There is very cruel tradition to spend Holy Week in Pampanga province. Hundreds of religious people going one by one across the province and self-torture own body by special lash called burillos. This procedure called penitensya. Also may of them are carryin very heavy wood or banana cross. The culmination of the Good Friday pageant in Pampanga is the crucifixio. It is conducted at multiple sites in the vicinity of three hours of the day (during the Savior's death on the Jesus)

Rescue Closed but not over The deadliest disaster in the history of the garment industry happened in Bangladesh on April 24, 2013. Upon my arrival, the scene appeared overwhelming. The entire building was demolished to wreckage. Hundreds of people tried to rescue the remaining survivors. Rescue workers were pulling bodies from the rubble. The death toll stood at more than 1,129 with many more missing. Proceeding the three days on assignment as a photojournalist covering the disaster, I was sent to the island of the Philippines to complete my post graduation. By the fourth day, I felt an urgent need to return to continue documenting the disaster. Although global headlines had shifted to other world events, the situation on the site remained horrific. I returned after eight days. I was amazed at how dedicated the people of Bangladeshi were by continuing the rescue operation. Hundreds of people worked together with members of the Bangladesh Army, fire service and Red Crescent. I felt humbled and stricken at the sight of the workers bodies crushed amid rubble. Using pieces of fabric to drop bodies of the survivors or pull free the bodies of victims from the rubble revealed a lot about the volunteers. Over 290 unclaimed bodies were buried after DNA samples were taken. After nearly three weeks of painstaking search for bodies among the rubble of the worst tragedy in the history of the global garment industry, the Bangladesh army turned control of the site over to the civilian government for cleanup. Though the Bangladesh Army has closed the rescue officially, it’s not ended. Relatives of missing victims continue to look for their loved ones at the collapsed building site. Though they have lost so much, remaining is the hope for any trace of a loved one.

Nobody but the fireflies… Perhaps it is nobody but the fireflies that will light to mourn the victims of the political unrest of Bangladesh. It is expected from nobody to remember the names or the faces of the unfortunate innocents. The country is entitled to practice democracy where the political parties are nothing but violent among each other. Politics has been made synonymous to business here. The forever long last of power among the governments, have drowned all political parties in vein. Power has become money and the source of all troubles. The opposition parties are still on the street to fight for a new election under a caretaker government. They have been continuously calling strikes and blockades throughout the year. Petrol bombs, cocktail and flammable substance are regularly throwing on public buses, trains, other vehicles – innocent people are getting injured or killed on those attacks. The political parties are yet to take any responsibilities whatsoever of the subversive activities against the innocents.

The photos were taken in the former mine from Anina city, Romania. It is the oldest mine from Romania, and when it was closed in 2006 it was the deepest mine from Europe. The closing of the mine lead to the economical decay of the entire city. A lot of the people left the city. Juju is a 74 years old man, who has worked at the mine. After the mine was closed Juju has lived in different places from the city, but now he lives in the former gatekeeper's room of the mine.

Her voice was shaky and eyes were full of tears, when she was talking with me. Two years before in November 24, 2012, a blaze in the factory has killed 112 workers, 17-years-old Hena Akhter, daughter of Rokeya Begum was one’s of them. In that day also innate 112 unbearable, heartbreaking, unacceptable, awful true stories of life. Those stories tell losing husband, or wife, or mother, father, brother, sister, daughter and every single story of life is awful true stories of life as Rokeya Begum. Time and tide wait for none, life is going on. As well as relatives of victims trying to adjust during past two years, many of them go back their village, few of them still jobless but scared of working in any garment, few are starting small business las a tea stall, someone starts working in a garment again and many of them stacked in a room through sickness, but time, tide, life really becomes stacked for the few as a Rokeya, Jobbar, Lota, Mujammel, Jomira and more after that blaze in the Tazrin garment facility. Still almost every day somebody are moving around their former living room next to the Tazrin garment factory building, that was burnt with the factory and memorized their family lives with their loved one.

LIVING WASTE In Bangladesh, many poor people migrated from the village areas to urban for their better living. Many of them pick recyclables plastic materials to sell the Market for their livelihood. The number of poor people is increasing day by day in Bangladesh, Economic and social disparities level is in the earth to sky. The poor become poorer and Rich people are richer. Nearly 40% of people live below the poverty limit in the village areas in Bangladesh. Some Poverty victim family men, women and their children come to the big cities and some of they collect recyclables plastic household materials from permanent waste land which is harmful for health. But they have to work in these unhealthy work environments, for surviving their livelihood and daily income 200 to 300 taka (USD 2.5-4). And I have found a family of Rafiqul Islam who, were forced to purchases one trucks medical waste by USD 13. From the City Corporation employee truck driver of carrying the medical waste in Sylhet City, it is Payroll driver immoral corruption. Then the whole day Rafiqul and her wife separated the recyclable item/materials. End of the day, selling to recycling shop, approximately BDT 2000-25000 (USD 25-30). There are mid level shops where they sell their daily stocks. After that these plastics transferred to the recycle places for further process.

Sisterly Love Two poor older sisters live in a wooden house at Kampung Jinjang Utara,Kuala Lumpur. The 66 years old sister collecting cardboard boxes for money of living. Chittagong is often regarded as the commercial and industrial capital of Bangladesh. Estimated population of the city is more than 6.5 million and it is considered the second largest city in the country. The Port of Chittagong is an important driver of the Bangladeshi economy, handling over 90% of the country's international trade. The millions of people living in these areas have to battle tidal flood sometimes twice a day. Prior to this sudden regularity, the only tidal surge in remembered history occurred during 1991, when a hurricane hit the coastal area of Chittagong. The new, frequent floods are quite alarming they rise even higher than before and continue to stay for days, causing great disquiet for the inhabitants. Locals such as myself are growing increasingly concerned, as we all may have to shift from our original localities due to this excess of water. My ongoing project “Water World” seeks to bring these issues to light. According to IPCC FAQ 5.1 There is strong evidence that global sea level gradually rose in the 20th century and is projected to rise at an even greater rate in this century. The two major causes of global sea level rise are thermal expansion of the oceans (water expands as it warms) and the loss of land-based ice due to increased melting. The instrumental record of modern sea level change shows evidence for onset of sea level rise during the 19th century. Estimates for the 20th century show that global average sea level rose at a rate of about 1.7 mm yr–1. Global sea level is projected to rise during the 21st century at a greater rate than during 1961 to 2003. Under the IPCC Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES) A1B scenario by the mid 2090s, for instance, global sea level reaches 0.22 to 0.44 m above 1990 levels, and is rising at about 4 mm yr–1. As in the past, sea level change in the future will not be geographically uniform, with regional sea level change varying within about ±0.15 m of the mean in a typical model projection. Thermal expansion is projected to contribute more than half of the average rise, but land ice will lose mass increasingly rapidly as the century progresses. The daily star published on June 20,2013,The Postdam Institute for Climate Impact Reaserch and Climate Analytics prepared a scientific report for the world bank that was released June 19,2013 forecasts a two degrees Celsius rise in the world’s average temperature in the next decades. Considering the present warming trends, the reports warns that even 20 to 30 years from now shifting rain patterns could leave some areas of the country under water and some others without enough water for power generation, irrigation or even drinking. Flood affected areas could increase by as much as 29 percent for a 2.5 degrees Celsius temperature rise in Bangladesh, says the report. If the sea level rises 65 cm in 2080,around 40 percent arable land will be lost in southern Bangladesh, it notes about 20 million people in the coastal areas are affected by salinity in drinking water and rising sea levels.

　Reza Pejman, a 9-year-old boy, who is innately disabled for both his legs and right arm are crippled. He managed to break the record of breast and back stroke in swimming after four months of professional swimming course.

In a tragic accident, 15-year-old Mohammad Sharif lost most of his limbs except for his left arm. It happened when he was eleven. He was hit by 33,000 volts of electricity while chasing a kite on the roof. He became a burden to his family who has had to bear the continuous medical cost for his care. He had to leave school and needed to go to a special school not available where his family lives and the added expense was not something they could afford to take on. In spite of all this, Sharif has not given up. He considers life a gift and he wants to live it with renewed energy. He formed a children cricket team with him as its captain. The Bangladesh cricket team has been his inspiration and Shakib Al-Hasan is his hero. Sharif has good friends and his family always supports him. He practices cricket regularly and even participates in local cricket tournaments every year.
